Ink & Tap Techique with Elements of Style

Hi There. Well here I am back with the second card I made using the Ink & Tap Technique. The stamp sets I used are 'Elements of Style' & 'Papillon Potpourri'. This card is made purely with stamps and this technique. The backing piece of card stock is stamped with the flourish stamp from the Elements of Style stamp set and then I paper pierced around the edge for a neat border and to create more visual interest. The stamped Butterfly at the bottom of the card is from the Papillon Potpourri Stamp Set and punched out with the Bitty Butterfly Punch. I really looove this technique!

Style Tips for ' Ink & Tap' Technique.
Always start with a lighter colour and add a darker colour for the accent.
1. Ink a stamp up in a Lighter colour than your accent colour using a Classic Stampin' Pad.
2. Then add Accent colours with Stampin' Write Markers.
How To 'Ink & Tap' for the Card Above:
Create the Backing Piece of Card Stock.
1. Ink the Flourish stamp with Daffodil Delight Classic Stampin' Pad
2. Use the Brush end of the Primrose Petals Stampin' Write Marker to add the accent colour. Do this by tapping the side of the Marker against the stamp and also colouring directly on the stamp.
3. Breathe on the stamp to remoisten the ink and stamp straight onto Whisper White card stock.
4. Repeat steps 1 to 3 to cover the whole piece of card stock and stamp off the edges to give a continuous look.
5. Paper Pierce a Border using the Paper Piercing Tool, Mat and Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack.
Create the Floral Oval.
1. Ink the Floral stamp with Baja Breeze Stampin' Pad.
2. Use the Brush end of Midnight Muse Stampin' Write Marker to add the first accent colour.
3. Use the Brush end of Lucky Limeade Marker to add the second accent colour.
Create the Bird:
1. Ink the Bird stamp with Real Red Stampin' Pad.
2. Add the accent colour with Midnight Muse Marker.
Create the Butterfly and For You stamp.
1. Ink both stamps in Baja Breeze Stampin' Pad.
2. Add the accent colour with Midnight Muse Marker.
I hope you'll give this technique a try. I really enjoyed playing with different colour combinations and seeing what I liked and didn't like! It's fun and very creative and gives us other ways to use our Ink Pads and Markers, getting more use out of them! If you would like more info just email me or leave a comment and I'll address it as soon as I can. Nola, I am getting there! Happy Creating and thanks for stopping by, Angeliki :)
