Some Quick Makes with Project Life

Who says Project Life Card Collections and Accessory packs are only for Scrapbookers? I love using them in my Cardmaking (I'm not a Scrapbooker at all!).
Here's two cards that were quick and easy to make but still have the Wow Factor!

One for the Guys!

Style Info

  • The Black and White Cross Hatched backing piece and the large 'HAPPY' are both Project Life Cards from 'Everyday Adventure Card Collection'.
  • I stamped 'Hello' straight onto the backing card piece and overlaid the 'Happy' card on Stampin' Dimensionals.
  • I love Candy Dots and here they give just the right balance!
  • The 'Happy Birthday' sentiment is from 'Tag Talk' which I punched out with the Label Bracket Punch and mounted with Dimensionals.

One for the Gal's!

 Style Info

  • Here again I've stamped 'Happy Birthday' straight onto the Project Life Card itself.
  • Two hearts die cut with Heart Collection Dies and embossed with 'Decorative Dots' Embossing Folder.
  • The cute little heart adds just the right touch!
  • And again, the Candy Dots give just the right balance!

Happy Birthday Butterflies Thinlits Dies

Sometimes I just love simplicity! And simplicity doesn't mean skimping on prettiness or beauty.

This card was quick to make and shows that sometimes less is more!

Style Info:

  • Just the right Touch! Rhinestone Basic Jewels set the Butterfly alight and give the Wow Factor!
  • Sentiment Pizazz! I love my 'Chalk Talk' dies, many of Stampin' Up!'s sentiments fit perfectly in them, as this one does. The bracket at one end gives visual 'prettiness' instead of a plain oblong, and is just the right touch for a pretty Rhinestone which adds Pizazz!
  • I just love the Happy Birthday in this Stamp Set and found it so useful on a lot of my cards.
Here's a little look at some of the other stamps in this set 'Butterfly Basics'. The other images are in recent posts if you want to look back.

Butterfly Basics Reload.

As promised yesterday, here's the card I made using the same ingredients as yesterdays card, with a few Colour Changes and Images.

Style Info

  • The beautiful Blackberry Bliss Velvet Ribbon is from the Artisans Embellishment Kit.
  • I've stencilled the Roses in Crumb Cake Ink. See what a contrast to yesterdays done in Sky Blue.
  • Other than the Rose Stencil, which is from the Artisans Embellishment Kit, all of the stamps I've used here are from the Butterfly Basics Stamp Set.
  • I love the font of the Happy Birthday, and just love that Flower Stem, which I coloured in using my Blendabilities Markers and then fussy cut with my Paper Snips.

Style Technique

  • See yesterdays post for 'How To's' on Stencilling, Water Wash Butterflies, and Soft Fern Frond.
  • Something I didn't mention yesterday:
    • I inked the Honeycomb stamp in Hello Honey Ink and stamped off a few times before stamping, randomly, onto my card front.

Head over to my Facebook page to see the same card but with different colours and see what a contrast of colours can actually do. You would think it was another card altogether! click on this link  https://www.facebook.com/AngelikiKoloStampninup

Butterfly Basics

At my card making class on Saturday, my ladies and I were talking about how we don't really like making Sympathy cards, only because of the reason we need to make them. But at times, we do need to make them, so here' one I made for a friend of mine.

Style Techniques

1)  How to make the Glitter Butterfly - this is so easy you'll love it!

  • Die cut the medium size Butterfly from the 'Butterflies Thinlits Dies' (Occasions Catalogue).
  • Cover entire area of the butterfly with Stampin' Up!'s Glue Stick.
  • Pour lots of Dazzling Diamonds Glitter all over it and press the glitter down firmly with your finger tips.
  • And, 'viola', you have one Gorgeous, Glittery, Butterfly!

2)  How to Get Water Wash Butterflies:

  • Ink Butterfly stamp up with Blackberry Bliss Ink, stamp off on a scrap piece of paper then stamp onto a separate piece of Whisper White card stock, then stamp again without re-inking. Punch the two Butterflies out with the Bitty Butterfly Punch and adhere to card.

 3)  Soft Fern Frond

  • Ink stamp up in Mossy Meadow, stamp off once then stamp straight onto card front.

4)   Stenciled Roses

  • I used the Rose Die-cut card piece from the Artisan Embellishment Kit as a Stencil and sponged with a sponge dauber with Soft Sky Ink.

Style Info

  • I purchased the Butterfly Basics Stamp Set and the Butterflies Thinlits Dies as a Bundle which saved me 15% if purchased separately. You can purchase them separately though.
  • The Artisan Embellishment Kit is really Beautiful! As a part of it, you get 2 gorgeous Rose Die-cut card pieces which you can adhere directly onto a card front, which is really pretty, and/or use one as a stencil as I did here. The stencilled one looks really pretty with the ink from stencilling so later, if you're sick of it, you can use it on a card front also!
  • This card makes a really pretty Birthday Card too!

Here are the Stampin' Up! Star Ingredients I used to Make this Card

Stamps: Butterfly Basics (Occasions Catalogue Pg 26), Love & Sympathy (Annual Cat' pg 122)
Ink Pads: Blackberry Bliss, Hello Honey, Mossy Meadow, Soft Sky
Card Stock: Whisper White, Soft Sky
Accessories: Artisan Embellishment Kit (Occasions Catalogue Pg 27), Dazzling Diamonds Glitter
Tools: Big Shot, Butterflies Thinlits Dies, Bitty Butterfly Punch
Adhesives: Glue Stick (130654), Multipurpose Liquid Glue (110755)

I hope you've enjoyed today's Card. Come back tomorrow to see another Card I've made with the Butterfly Basics Stamp Set. I think you'll love it!
Have a great day! Angeliki :)

Gold Soiree

When I set out to make this card for my daughter I knew I wanted something pretty and elegant, so went straight to my favourite set of papers that fit the bill perfectly - 'Gold Soiree' Specialty Designer Series Papers. They have a lovely smooth sheen to them and each sheet of paper features Metallic Gold ink.

The backing piece of paper (white polka dot on red) is the only piece not sourced from the Gold Soiree range and is from Birthday Bash Specialty Designer Series Papers (Occasions Catalogue).

FYI - When I'm using products that are not from the Annual Catalogue I like to name which catalogue they came from so it's not so confusing!

Style Info

  • I just love these Embellishments which are from the 'Artisan Embellishment Kit' (Occasions Catalogue on page 27) They add extra dimension, elegance and eye appeal.

  • I used my Scallop Punch on the large polka dot paper piece. I punched on all edges, without a scallop corner rounder, and was really pleased with how this turned out.

  • I used the Elegant Butterfly and Bitty Butterfly Punches for the Butterflies and rounded their wings a little with a pencil.
  • Adding different patterned papers give visual interest and by making them small they don't clash

Here's a List of the Stampin' Up! Star Ingredients I used to Make this Card.

Photopolymer Stamp Set: Flower Patch 134207
Ink Pad: Garden Green 126973
Card Stock: Very Vanilla 106550
Papers: Gold Soiree 133697, Birthday Bash 137783 (Occasions Catalogue)
Accessories: Artisan Embellishment Kit 137909 (Occasions Catalogue), Venetian Crochet Trim, Silver Bakers Twine, Calypso Coral Chevron Ribbon.
Tools: Elegant Butterfly, Bitty Butterfly, Scallop Border and Scallop Tag Topper Punches.
Big Shot: Large Scallop and Chalk Talk Dies.

Hope you enjoyed this card. It's lots of fun playing with all the pretty papers and embellishments!

Have a great Day! Angeliki :)
